With the fall season right around the corner, now is a great time to prepare your closet for the coming months. In a few quick steps, your closet will be ready for the new season, you’ll save time getting dressed in the morning, and you’ll be ready for a new season with a perfectly curated closet that’s just right for you.

It's easy to make a curate closet of items you actually want to wear!

First, make a note of what you didn’t wear at all this summer. Chances are good you won’t wear these pieces next summer, either. Get them out of your closet – donate or sell them! They’re taking up valuable real estate for other, more loved pieces. Clean and repair any items that need some TLC, then store away pieces that won’t transition into another season.

Now, it’s time to curate your collection. Take a look at your wardrobe for fall and consider your personal style. Of course, remove any items that you don’t feel 100% fantastic when you put them on. Next, remove any pieces that don’t fit your style anymore. We bet some of the pieces you don’t feel great in also don’t fit your personal style. Also remove any items that are duplicates. We promise, you don’t need five white t-shirts. More items to sell or donate!

Next, consider occasions for which you need to dress. Do you have a wedding, a big work event, or have you increased your exercising? Take a look at your remaining pieces and make note of what outfits you’ll wear to which event. Finally, if there are any gaps in your wardrobe, make a note to purchase these pieces.

By now, you’ll have a closet that is full of items that fit your personal style and you’ll actually wear this season.
